Saudi Arabia-East African Economic Forum to be held in Addis Ababa

Culture and Tourism Minister, Mohamded Dirir Addis Ababa (November 7, 2009) – Saudi-East African Economic Forum would be held here in Addis Ababa from Nov.13-15, 2009, Culture and Tourism Minister, Mohammed Dirir said.

The minister said the Forum is aiming at promoting partnership and cooperation between the business community of Saudi-Arabia and East African countries.

The Forum also aims to ensure that the benefits of the existing successful relations between Saudi-Arabia and East African countries will be shared by all businesses and bring about a better life and economic opportunities for the peoples of the East African region.

The minister said the Forum offers a unique opportunity for businesses to engage, promote and exhibit their products and services, he said.

The event would also provide an investor’s forum, discussions and workshops, interactive and bilateral meetings to be arranged between the visitors and local businesses.

More than 50 Saudi Arabian leading companies would show case their products and know-how and network with officials and investors from East African countries.

Ethiopia, Djibouti, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Somalia and Uganda would participate in the Forum that is organized under the auspices of the business community of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the conference centre of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa and Millennium Hall here.
